In a game that had all the excitement of a mortgage payment, the Buffalo Bills collected a victory over the Cleveland Browns 13-6 in week 14 of the NFL season. The Bills stomped out any realistic chance for the Browns, who came into the game victors in four out of their last six games, at an outside chance as a wild card playoff team.
The Browns set the tone early by driving the field on their very first posession of the game and opting to kick a field goal on the one yard line on fourth down. The Bills came into the match ranked dead last in run defense, yet the Browns opted to settle for three points. In 55 minutes of playing time, the anemic Browns offense was unable to sniff the Bills goaline turning the ball over three times and gaining just 187 yards for the game.
While the Browns were in the game till late in the fourth quarter, the offense never posed a serious threat as the Bills were able to run out the clock and hand the Browns their eight loss of the season. In an up and down season, Cleveland has shown the ability to play up to better competition (Patriots, Saints) and at the same time down to lesser competeition (Carolina, Buffalo).
Look for the Browns to establish their own level of play as they travel to Paul Brown Stadium to face the woeful 2-11 Bengals in the "Battle of Ohio."

For the second week in a row the Browns win in the final seconds of the game as Phil Dawson connects on a 23-yard field goal to beat the Miami Dolphins 13-10. However, for the second week in a row the Browns pulled out a victory having to rely on the mishaps of the opposition to secure the victory.
Most of the afternoon the Browns offense flailed like a fish out of water only to be saved by an opportunistic defense that drowned Dolphins QB Chad Henne forcing three interceptions, including rookie Joe Haden's fifth pick of the season.
It was Browns veteran safety, Michael "Pops" Adams that made the biggest wave turning the tide in the games deciding play. With the game knotted at 10 and 1:00 remaining, Adams snatched a tipped pass and returned it to the Miami two yard line to put Dawson in position for the game winning attempt.
Playing without rookie QB Colt McCoy for a second straight week due to a high ankle sprain, the Browns offense looked muleish as they struggled to sustain drives and netted only 252 yards of offense. The Browns nearly gift wrapped the game for the Dolphins when an ill-advised pass and easy pick six from QB Jake Delhomme was dropped by Dolphins CB Nolan Carrol.
Nonetheless, Delhomme gets the credit for his second straight victory since returning from injury. The Browns all of a sudden find themselves in the hunt for a wild card berth and will look to improve their record to 6-7 next week when they face off against the 2-10 Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

Hallelujah!, It's a good thing Jake Delhomme is a devout christian, because the Browns needed a prayer to close out the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Sidelined with a high ankle sprain, Delhomme returned to his starting role for the first time since week one to face the team he once led to a Super Bowl appearance in his seven-year career with the Panthers.
After watching a 21-7 lead vanish, the Browns needed a John Kasay missed field goal to secure a 24-23 victory at Cleveland Browns Stadium. The Browns, playing without the inspiration of rookie quarterback Colt McCoy due to a high ankle sprain, improved to 4-7 on the season with the victory. This was the first victory of the year for Cleveland with Delhomme as starter, holding out hopes for a late playoff push.
The Browns offense was led by RB Peyton Hillis, who rushed for 131 yards on 26 carries, three that resulted in Browns TD's. He also caught six passes for 61 yards.
Delhomme was shaky going 24-35 for 245 yards with two interceptions in his return. An ugly victory, but a victory nonetheless.
